Dr. Sawyer founded Sea Run Holdings LLC. (SRH) in 1981 which was acquired by Salmonics in 2021. Dr. Sawyer combines academic expertise in zoology with extensive aquaculture experience, transforming Sea Run Holdings from a salmon aquaculture company to a biomedicine pioneer leading in the development of proteins, therapeutants, and other reagents from salmon blood. She holds 12 patents and has authored numerous publications. She earned a Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of New Hampshire in 1974 while working as a biologist at the East Coast’s first salmon farm. She later served as a fish pathologist for the Sea Grant Program before founding Sea Run Holdings. Dr. Sawyer is also on Salmonics’ Board of Directors.
