Salmonics is honored to be featured as a spotlight member for Bioscience Association of Maine (BioME). BioME is devoted to developing the life science industry in Maine and they have provided Salmonics with invaluable resources that have contributed to their growth.
It can be challenging to switch from a product you have been using for years, but why not try something that is more cost-effective, sustainable, free of mammalian pathogens, alleviates supply chain issues, is more humanely sourced, and works the same, if not better, than what you’re using?

Salmonics offers innovative fish-based alternatives to mainstream laboratory reagents, buffers, and proteins. Laboratory products derived from bovine and other mammals are widely used in the biomedical industry. Salmonics offers fish-derived alternatives that work similar to, and in some cases superior to, mammalian-derived options. Salmonics’ current products include Sea Block® fish blocking buffer, fibrinogen and thrombin plasma clotting proteins, fish plasma, and custom products used either as a final reagent or as a precursor to a client’s final product.
Sea Block® is an alternative fish-based blocking buffer for ELISA, western blot, fluorescence (IF) assays, and immunohistochemistry (IHC). Fibrinogen and thrombin plasma clotting proteins are used in 3D cell culture, non-mammalian extracellular matrices, regenerative medicine, stem cell selection, and more. Filtered fish plasma is available for research, as well as for custom product development. Salmonics is also developing several new products including fibronectin, plasminogen, and serum for mammalian cell culture.
