Salmonics is proud to announce the soft launch of our new salmon-derived Fibronectin, available now for early adopter testing with a limited time 10% discount for those who join us in refining this product ahead of its full commercial release this fall.
A Product Years in the Making
The development of Salmonics’ Fibronectin began with our acquisition of Sea Run Holdings (SRH), where foundational R&D into the unique properties of fish proteins was led by Dr. Evelyn Sawyer. SRH uncovered the powerful hemostatic, pain-relieving, and healing potential of salmon plasma proteins. Their groundbreaking work, particularly around salmon fibrinogen and thrombin, made these products available to the biomedical research community and led to numerous published applications in 3D cell culture, cell selection, regenerative medicine, and immunologic assays.
Building on this early R&D, our Salmonics team has refined purification processes, scaled production, and optimized quality control to expand access to these high-performing, sustainably sourced proteins to the broader research and biotech community.
We are adding a new product, a non-mammalian alternative to traditional fibronectin, now ready for market introduction.
Now, with a soft launch of Salmonics’ Salmon Fibronectin, we’re honoring our innovative legacy while expanding our portfolio of fish-derived proteins designed to advance biomedical research and applications in animal and human health.
Why Fibronectin?
As demand grows for more effective, ethical, and sustainable cell culture tools, salmon fibronectin was a natural next step for Salmonics.
This multifunctional glycoprotein is essential for cellular adhesion, migration, and growth, which are key to regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, and other life sciences applications. Its extraction method also complements our existing protein portfolio, allowing us to build on our established expertise while expanding our product range.
Salmonics’ Salmon Fibronectin has not shown toxicity in numerous cell types tested and is particularly well-suited for:
- Promoting cell adhesion, spreading, and differentiation in a wide range of culture systems
- Supporting robust growth of fibroblasts, melanoma cells, mouse spinal cord neurons, and human neutrophils
- Delivering equal or higher cell densities compared to human and bovine fibronectin
In short, fibronectin meets a critical need for reliable, high-performance components that benefit researchers in labs and hospitals.
A Strategic Fit in Our Product Portfolio
Salmon Fibronectin joins our growing line of extracellular matrix (ECM) and cell culture proteins, strengthening Salmonics’ commitment to supporting advanced 3D models, bioprinting, and biologically relevant systems. Alongside products like Fibrinogen and Thrombin, this new addition allows us to offer more comprehensive solutions for researchers working with complex cell and cell aggregate environments.
Outperforming the Competition
Unlike mammalian-derived alternatives, our fibronectin is sustainably sourced from farm-raised Atlantic salmon, free from antibiotics, hormones, and chemical treatments. Most importantly, our salmon-derived fibronectin is naturally free from mammalian pathogens, prions, and viruses.
In laboratory testing, our fibronectin has shown performance equal to or better than human and bovine fibronectin, with no toxicity observed across tested cell types.
With its high purity, low endotoxin levels, and dual-format availability (lyophilized and frozen), our fibronectin is ready to support your cutting-edge research.

Become Part of the Launch
We’re inviting researchers, manufacturers, and biotech innovators to participate in this soft launch, test the product in their workflows, and share feedback that will help shape the final release. A 10% discount is available during this period as a thank-you for your early support.
As active members of the scientific community, we’re eager to hear directly from the researchers who will be using this product every day. Your insights matter, and your participation drives innovation.
