Salmonics is bringing the next generation of protein and reagent R&D tools to scientists – those with the purity of salmonid plasma, according to Cem Giray, PhD, President and CEO of Salmonics. Dr. Giray was invited to speak as a top manufacturing innovator at the 2022 Manufacturing Association of Maine (MAME) Summit.
“We were so impressed with the innovation and capabilities of Salmonics. Clearly, the company is a boon to the biotech industry,” said Lisa G. Martin, 23-year Executive Director of MAMe who recently announced her retirement.
“Our key innovation lies in the salmonid purity of our research tools for scientists,” said Dr. Giray. “The lack of mammalian pathogens makes our products easier to use, as they naturally provide more reliable results. An equally important innovation helps the environment, reducing waste of valuable resources. We utilize top quality salmonid raw material that would otherwise need to be discarded safely.”
”We developed and honed our research tools over decades in our prior form as a research company,” said Dr. Giray. Current products include proteins Fibrinogen and Thrombin. Stay tuned for the blocking agent, Sea Block®, as it will be back soon due to popular demand.
“We were particularly grateful to be part of such an important Summit where heartfelt admiration and respect for Lisa Martin was expressed by many speakers and much of the audience,” said Dr. Giray.
